While I specialize in documenting oceanographic research expeditions, I regularly engage in other projects related to science communications and adventurous pursuits.

When I’m not at sea, you can find me:

  • Writing feature articles (typically about scientists and research) for publications like the Carolina Alumni Review and Carolina Arts & Sciences Magazine

  • Teaching online courses for the Association of Science Communicators

  • Spending a lot of time (and climbing a lot of volcanoes) in Oregon and Washington

  • Speaking to college students (and other groups) about my career path, and mentoring folks who want to do similar work in science communications

  • Visiting friends and colleagues across the country, and going hiking and camping as often as possible

If you’d like to get in touch with me, please fill out the form below, or just shoot me an email at mlparkermedia@gmail.com.

I love connecting with new people, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
